Bhooth Bangla Trailer Just Dropped and OG Akshay Kumar Energy Is Back — Gossip on Bollybakar

The Bhooth Bangla trailer just dropped TODAY and the internet is already screaming. Let's get into it. 👻🔥

BHOOTH BANGLA TRAILER IS HERE AND KHILADI KUMAR IS BACK, BABY

Okay so today is the day Bollywood has been waiting for. The trailer of Bhooth Bangla officially dropped on April 6, launched in front of the media and cast at PVR Icon, Infinity Mall in Andheri West, and if early reactions are anything to go by, Akshay Kumar just reminded everyone exactly why he used to be untouchable in comedy.

    Watch the trailer here:

    Bhoot Bangla Trailer

Almost three minutes of pure madness, the trailer introduces us to Arjun Acharya, a broke man who inherits an ancestral palace in the fictional village of Mangalpur and decides to host his sister's long overdue wedding there. Small problem: a dark supernatural force called Vadhusur has been making sure no bride survives in this town for years. The official caption the makers dropped with the trailer? "Welcome to Bhooth Bangla. Yahan na toh log normal hain… Aur upar se Bangla bhi paranormal hai. Enter at your own risk." We are entering. Immediately.

THE REUNION NOBODY KNEW THEY NEEDED THIS BADLY

The film reunites Akshay with director Priyadarshan after a full 14 years, and the chemistry shows. This is their seventh collaboration and it carries all the DNA of their golden era — unhinged situational comedy, a haunted house serving as the backdrop for pure chaos, and that specific brand of ensemble madness that Priyadarshan does better than anyone. Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and the late Asrani are all back in the mix, and just seeing those names together on screen in a Priyadarshan film is enough to send an entire generation of Bollywood fans straight into their feelings. The trailer also cheekily has Rajpal Yadav slapping Akshay Kumar, a very deliberate reversal of their usual dynamic that is absolutely going to be a talking point for the next ten days.

Early reactions on X have been unhinged in the best way. One user called it a "sure shot blockbuster" and another simply wrote "Bhooth Bangla, Khiladi is back" which, honestly, says it all. The consensus is that Akshay is in OG comedy mode and it has been a while since anyone has seen him like this.

TABU IS UP TO SOMETHING AND NOBODY KNOWS WHAT

Now here is the bit everyone is talking about. The makers have been cagey about Tabu's role since day one and the trailer does absolutely nothing to clear the air.

She appears with maximum mystery, leaving everyone guessing about whether she is the villain, the twist, or something nobody is even theorising yet.

One preview called her the surprise package of the trailer and given that this is Tabu we are talking about, that title carries serious weight.

The actual horror element of the film has also been kept almost entirely under wraps, which is a smart move. You get the comedy, you get the chaos, but the genuinely scary bits are being saved for the theatre.

THE RELEASE DATE SAGA THAT DESERVES ITS OWN DOCUMENTARY

Speaking of the theatre, the release date journey for this film has been something else entirely. Bhooth Bangla has been shifted more times than a cricket match in rainy season.

It started as an April 2 release, got pushed to May 15, got pulled back to April 10, then landed on April 17 with paid previews beginning April 16 from 9 PM. Every single shift has been because of Dhurandhar: The Revenge absolutely refusing to slow down at the box office. The producers put on their nicest faces and called the postponement a decision that "benefits everyone," but fans were not amused.

Trade experts are now saying this delay might actually work in the film's favour since Dhurandhar 2 will have nearly exhausted its run by then, and Bhooth Bangla will enjoy a clean two-week window with no real competition until May 1.

ARIJIT SINGH CAME OUT OF RETIREMENT FOR THIS AND WE HAVE QUESTIONS

Then there is the Arijit Singh angle, which is genuinely one of the more dramatic sideplots in recent Bollywood memory. The man announced his retirement from playback singing in January 2026. Retired. Done. And then reportedly reached out personally to the Bhooth Bangla team, telling them he felt a deep connection with the romantic track "Tu Hi Disda" and wanted to sing it. He came out of retirement for this film. Voluntarily.

That is either the most romantic thing a singer has ever done for a project or an extremely well timed PR move, and either way it worked because the song has been everywhere.

Bhooth Bangla arrives in cinemas April 17. The haunted bangla is officially open. 🕯️
