From Hansal Mehta to Shimit Amin

Initially attached to filmmaker Hansal Mehta, the project has now shifted to Shimit Amin, best known for Chak De! India. This change signals a fresh vision, blending patriotism with high‑stakes aviation drama.

Production Timeline

Filming for Captain India is scheduled between May and July 2026, marking the revival of a project that had nearly been shelved. The film’s first look, featuring Kartik in a pilot’s uniform, had already generated buzz when it was revealed years ago.
