South Indian Movies In Hindi Dubbed: Best Picks
The South Indian films worth watching in Hindi dubbed versions, from Baahubali and RRR to KGF and Kantara, plus where each one streams.

Hindi-dubbed South Indian cinema stopped being a television-afternoon habit somewhere around 2015 and became the biggest force in Indian box office. Here is what is actually worth your evening, sorted by what you are in the mood for.
The essentials
Baahubali: The Beginning and The Conclusion (2015, 2017)
S.S. Rajamouli's two-part epic is the film that broke the language barrier for good. The Hindi dub was handled with unusual care, and the second part remains one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever made.
RRR (2022)
Rajamouli again, with Ram Charan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr. The film won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Naatu Naatu" — the first Indian film song to do so.
KGF: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 (2018, 2022)
Yash as Rocky. Chapter 2 in particular played enormously in the Hindi belt, and its style — slow-motion, gold-tinted, unapologetically loud — has been copied constantly since.
Kantara (2022)
Rishab Shetty's Kannada film about land rights and Bhoota Kola ritual. The final twenty minutes are the reason people recommend it, and the Hindi dub does not soften them.
If you want a thriller
- Drishyam (Malayalam, 2013) — the original, before the Ajay Devgn remake. Mohanlal is quieter and the film is better for it.
- Vikram Vedha (Tamil, 2017) — again, the original beats the Hindi remake.
- Ratsasan (Tamil, 2018) — a genuinely tense serial-killer procedural.
- Kaithi (Tamil, 2019) — one night, one truck, almost no dialogue wasted.
If you want scale
- Pushpa: The Rise (Telugu, 2021) — Allu Arjun, and the film that made "Srivalli" unavoidable.
- Salaar (Telugu, 2023) — Prabhas and Prashanth Neel, essentially KGF's energy in a new world.
- Jailer (Tamil, 2023) — Rajinikanth doing exactly what you want Rajinikanth to do.
- Leo (Tamil, 2023) — Vijay in Lokesh Kanagaraj's connected universe.
If you want something smaller
Malayalam cinema is where the interesting low-budget work is happening. The Great Indian Kitchen, Jana Gana Mana, Nayattu and Joji all have solid Hindi dubs or subtitles on major platforms, and none of them need a hundred-crore set piece to hold you.
A note on dubs versus subtitles
Hindi dubs of South films vary a lot in quality. Big theatrical releases like Baahubali, RRR, KGF and Pushpa were dubbed for a national release and sound right. Older library titles pushed to satellite TV often were not, and the dialogue can land flat. If a film feels off, switch to the original audio with subtitles before writing it off — the performance is usually the thing that got lost.
Where to find them
Most of these rotate between Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, JioHotstar, Zee5 and Sun NXT depending on the studio. Streaming rights in India change frequently, so check the platform before you plan a watch night.
