Bros Before… Mahieka? The Pandya Brothers Drama Nobody Asked For But Everyone's Watching

Krunal says "all is ok." His celebration after Hardik's wicket said something entirely different. We have notes.

Okay, baithe jao. Pull up a chair, pour yourself some chai — make it extra strong — because today we are diving headfirst into the most delicious, most dramatic, most unconfirmed but also kind of obvious family saga currently playing out on the cricket pitches of India. We are talking, of course, about the Pandya Brothers Situation.

Now before anyone comes for us, we are not saying anything happened. We are simply noticing things. We are asking questions. We are, in the grand tradition of every aunty at every shaadi since the beginning of time, connecting dots.

"All is ok." - Krunal Pandya, on the RCB Insider podcast. His celebration after dismissing Hardik, however, did not get this memo.

Let us begin at the beginning. April 12, 2026. Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai Indians versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Cricket was supposed to be happening. And it was! RCB won by 18 runs, lovely stuff. But nobody — and we mean nobody — was talking about the scorecard once the cameras caught what happened between siblings Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya.

Picture the scene. Hardik, batting for MI as captain, is doing his Hardik things — swinging big, looking stylish, scoring 40 off 22 balls. And then? Jacob Duffy gets him. Romario Shepherd takes the catch. And Krunal Pandya — dear elder brother, fellow all-rounder, the man who once cheered for Hardik's every six — sprints in to celebrate like it was the World Cup final, the IPL final, and Diwali all rolled into one.

The celebration was, let's say, enthusiastic. Aggressively so. Memorably so. And Hardik — as he walked off — gave Krunal a look that could curdle milk at fifty paces. You know that stare. The cold, hard, "we will be discussing this at home" stare. Except, and here's the thing — would they even be having that chat?

The Chugli Aunty Files — Key Evidence

No hug. No handshake. No "bhai, well played." At the post-match, cameras searched desperately for one warm sibling moment between Hardik and Krunal and came back empty-handed. For brothers who once defined the phrase "Team Pandya," the silence was louder than any celebration.

Now, social media — bless its chaotic little heart — was already in full detective mode weeks before this match. Sharp-eyed fans had noticed something unusual: when Hardik lifted India to glory in the T20 World Cup 2026 final on March 8, the congratulatory posts from Krunal and his wife Pankhuri Sharma were... absent. Notably absent. In a family that once shared everything online — every milestone, every match, every gym selfie — this particular silence was a statement.

And it wasn't just the posts. Krunal and Pankhuri reportedly weren't even in the stands for the World Cup. Instead, who was front and centre, cheering Hardik on, being called his "lucky charm" by Hardik himself? Model Mahieka Sharma, Hardik's much-talked-about new relationship following his 2024 separation from Natasa Stankovic.

A family get-together in Vadodara: Natasa present. Little Agastya present. Krunal and their mother present. Hardik? Not in the pictures. Mahieka? Also not in the pictures. Coincidence? Sure. We are calling it a Coincidence with a capital C.

And here is where the really spicy part comes in, because apparently the internet has constructed an entire theory, brick by brick. Post-divorce, Krunal's family reportedly stayed close to Natasa. There were family gatherings in Vadodara — you know, the cosy hometown ones — and the pictures showed Natasa, her son Agastya, Krunal, Pankhuri, and Mama Pandya. Hardik was not in those pictures. Mahieka was not in those pictures. The internet noticed. The internet always notices.

Fans have been theorising that Krunal and Pankhuri are perhaps not Mahieka's biggest fans. Some Twitter detectives — sorry, X investigators — even traced the beginning of the alleged distance all the way back to a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Baroda and Punjab, where apparently things were not entirely brotherly either. We cannot confirm this. But we are writing it down.

What the People Said (Fan Tweets, Summarised for Your Convenience)

"Too much money will destroy families too. This is an example." / "KP always supported GT when they reached the final for Hardik but Hardik didn't come for the final last year to support his brother." / "I'm not trying to start a controversy but..." [proceeds to start controversy at great length]

So what did Krunal himself say? Well, first — ahead of the April 12 match — he gave a beautifully diplomatic pre-match comment: "We are brothers at the end of the day, so we'll give everything on the field. May the best team win, which is RCB." Very measured. Very mature. Very "I have been coached by a PR team."

Then, on the RCB Insider podcast with the very entertaining host Danish Sait (Mr. Nags), Krunal was asked directly: is there a rift? Is there a fight? Are you and Hardik okay? And Krunal — bless him — laughed. He laughed the laugh of a man who has been asked this question too many times, and he said the two words (some reports say one word, details are disputed, the vibe is the same) that have since gone viral: "All ok."

When the host compared their sibling rivalry to WWE's Kane and The Undertaker, Krunal maintained his composure. That he needed to maintain composure at that comparison is, frankly, the funniest part of this entire saga.

Now here's the genius of "all ok" as a response: it answers the question and tells you absolutely nothing. It is the conversational equivalent of a forward defensive shot. Technically correct. Gives nothing away. The internet immediately became suspicious of how few words were used.

Krunal also, in a separate interview, strategically name-dropped Hardik — calling him one of cricket's best finishers, alongside Kieron Pollard. Which is either a genuine compliment from a loving brother, or the most calculated PR move in recent cricket history. Possibly both. The Pandyas are multifaceted individuals.

Here is the thing about all of this, though — and your Chugli Correspondent will be momentarily serious before returning to her natural state of gleeful speculation: we genuinely do not know. Neither player has made any public statement suggesting a real fallout. Experts in body language will tell you that two competitors facing each other in a high-stakes IPL match can look tense for a hundred reasons that have nothing to do with family drama. Krunal's celebration was enthusiastic — but he's a competitive cricketer on one of the country's most passionate IPL teams.

Families also grow. They change. Hardik's personal life has been through an enormous amount of public scrutiny — a divorce, a new relationship, a World Cup comeback — and perhaps the Pandya family is simply navigating what many families navigate quietly: the messy, imperfect, evolving business of staying close while everyone's life goes in different directions.

Bottom Line From The Aunty Desk

Krunal said "all ok." The celebration suggested something more in the neighbourhood of "all extremely not ok but I am a professional." The truth, as always, is somewhere in the middle — and the Pandya brothers are keeping it firmly to themselves. Which, honestly? Respect. But also: keep watching.

What we can say is that the Pandya brothers have always been cricket's most watchable sibling story. From their early days grinding it out together in Baroda, to becoming mainstays of Indian cricket, to now competing on opposite IPL sides — Krunal flying the RCB flag, Hardik leading MI — they have never been boring. And this chapter, whatever it truly is, is no different.

The next time RCB meets MI? Every camera in the stadium will be watching. Not for Kohli. Not for Patidar. For the precise moment Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya either acknowledge each other warmly — or pointedly do not. Either way, the internet will have thoughts. And so, obviously, will we.

Until next time — stay nosy, stay hydrated, and remember: the best gossip is the gossip that keeps you watching cricket.
