Opening Week Numbers Decent but Not Spectacular
Bollywood’s comedy drama Pati Patni Aur Woh Do opened with promise but failed to explode at the box office. The film collected ₹41.95 crore net in India and ₹57.42 crore worldwide by Day 14. For a star‑studded rom‑com, these numbers are respectable but not blockbuster material.
Day Wise Collections Show Ups and Downs
The film started with ₹4 crore on Day 1, rose to ₹7.75 crore on Sunday, and closed Week 1 at ₹29 crore. Week 2 saw fluctuations from ₹2.75 crore on Day 9 to just ₹1.20 crore on Day 13, before bouncing back with ₹1.75 crore on Day 14. The Pati Patni Aur Woh Do box office collection clearly reflects a roller‑coaster ride.
Audience Reactions Mixed and Spicy
While Ayushmann Khurrana’s comic timing and Sara Ali Khan’s charm were praised, critics felt the storyline lacked freshness compared to the original Pati Patni Aur Woh. Social media buzz cooled after the first weekend, with memes and debates overshadowing genuine appreciation.
Competition Crushes Pati Patni Aur Woh Do
The film faced stiff competition from Chand Mera Dil, Drishyam 3, and regional hit Karuppu. Hollywood’s The Mandalorian and the Grogu also grabbed screens, leaving Pati Patni Aur Woh Do struggling to hold its ground.
OTT May Offer a Lifeline
Trade experts believe Pati Patni Aur Woh Do could find redemption on OTT platforms, where rom‑coms often attract niche audiences. In theatres, however, the film’s run looks set to end around ₹50–55 crore net in India, a moderate finish.
Final Verdict
With ₹41.95 crore net in India and ₹57.42 crore worldwide, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do has delivered a middling performance. The film highlights the challenge for mid‑budget romantic comedies in a market dominated by big‑budget spectacles and regional blockbusters.
